Valley of the Kings

Ramses II and Tutankhamun’s tombs are among those in the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of Egypt’s kings from the 18th to the 20th dynasty. All the material possessions that a monarch would require in the afterlife were present in the tombs in abundance. The majority of the decorations inside the tombs are still in good condition.

Hatshepsut Temple

One of the most stunning and well-preserved temples from Ancient Egypt is the Hatshepsut temple. The temple was constructed on three levels, connected by two large ramps in the middle.

Colossi of Memnon

The only remnants of a complete funerary temple are two enormous stone statues of the pharaoh Amenhotep III known as the Colossi of Memnon. The statues are constructed from Cairo-based quartzite sandstone blocks that were transported 700 kilometers to Luxor.
